The whole family works in the shop and I found shopping there very enjoyable with the relaxed vibe and smiling faces. I purchased a large number of wool and cotton items and the postage to Australia was reasonable with my purchases arriving on my doorstep within two weeks.
While there are similar shops throughout Thamel, you should checkout Kedar Craft as I believe they are a step ahead of the other competition. You will not be disappointed.

The staff takes excellent care of each customer and the selection is astounding.... read more I have spent an hour searching through their stock with the young woman who works there to find the right prints -- and somehow she can find exactly what I'm looking for each time even though I don't know how to describe what I want. Their prices are a fraction of what other shops sell their products at because they are not on the main drag in Thamel. They are worth the extra short (and very lovely) walk. I purchase shawls for resale here in the US and I always take bags with me to carry everything back to the hotel but they also have bags for me if I need them.
